Ryoma Echizen |
Ryoma is the main character in Prince of Tennis. After spending several years in America, Ryoma is enrolled at Seishun. He manages to defeat two starters and becomes a Seigaku Regular, even though they usually don't allow that. Ryoma knows English pretty good and some people admire him because of that. He's nicknamed O'Chibi by Kikumaru because he's the smallest among the Regulars. |

Eiji Kikumaru |
Eiji is one of the most interesting characters in the anime. He is very energetic and hyper. Him and Oishi are known as Seigaku's golden pair. His specialty is Acrobatic Play.Eiji owns a large teddy bear, that always falls to the left. He used this once as a game strategy with Oishi in one game.All in all, Eiji has a good personality, though he tends to enjoy teasing others. This cause one of the schools biggest crisis- the breakup of the golden pair. |

Fuji Syusuke |
Shusuke Fuji is a tennis tensai. He hides his feelings and weaknesses behind his smile. He is always smiling, which makes him appear friendly and harmless, but when he is serious he opens his eyes. Then you should really beware. He is very analytical, seeking to expose the opponent's weaknesses, before attacking.He is the number two player at Seishun Gakuen, right behind Kunimitsu Tezuka, the team captain. His main skill is his triple counter. It comprises of his "Swallow's Return", "Brown Bear Falling", and "White Whale." This combined with his tensai sense make him a formidable foe.He also has a younger brother, Yuuta, and an older sister, Yumiko. They don't talk much about his sister, so she is unimportant. His brother has some significance, but you learn about him later. |

Ryoga Echizen |
Ryoga is Ryoma Echizen's 18 year old brother who is a pure right-handed tennis player. He knows a lot of Nanjiro Echizen's moves and uses then against Ryoma.Ryoma, however, beats Ryoga in the Prince Of Tennis movie. He steals all of Ryoma's peaches when younger. Ryoga is a bit of a show off and a ladies man. But is very good at tennis. |

Sadaharu Inui |
Sadaharu Inui is a 9th grader at Seishun Academy Junior High in class 11. He's the brain of the tennis team for his data tennis. He's all data and probability hence his quote. This upperclassman gathers as much information as he can about each player on the team and collects them in his Data Notebook. He is known as the data tennis man.After losing in the Regular selection matches (mostly due to Ryoma's appearance), he lost his spot as a regular and therefore, Coach Ryuzaki 'recruited' him as team manager for the first 50 episodes or so. |

Takashi Kawamura |
Taka is a very timid person who has a second personality when playing tennis. He is one of the strongest players on Seigaku, in strength I mean. He often plays with Fuji doubles. Just don't give him a racket! If so, you're in for a HUGE surprise! |

Takeshi Momoshiro |
Takeshi Momoshiro attends Seishun Academy Junior High as an 8th grader in class 8, plus he's one of Seigaku's tennis team regulars. He's the first regular to meet Ryoma in the series and his first opinion on the boy is that Ryoma's a 'smart-ass'.He prefers to be called 'Momo-chan' such as his alias, Momo. His Dunk Smash is beyond normal junior high tennis level and so forth, is the power house of the team. He plays tennis through the use of his strength and hits really powerful balls. |

Tezuka Kunimitsu |
Tezuka Kunimitsu is a tough team captain, but well respected by his team members. Like Ryoma Echizen, he was made into a Seigaku regular during his freshman year. He sees a lot of potential in Echizen.Despite his arm injury he still has a match with Echizen. He is very popular among the females fans, even though he rarely is seen smiling. |

Oishi Syuichiroh |
Oishi is a really kind person who cares about all the other team members twice as much as a regular team member (according to Fuji). Oishi is a Tezuka's close friend and is the vice captain of Seigaku. He plays doubles with Eiji, together, the two of them are known as the undefeated golden pair who went to the nationals. |

Kaidoh Kaoru |
Kaidoh is nicknamed "the sniper" by his fellow teammates since he is always really serious and is easily irritable. Kaidoh's famous move is the "boomrang snake" which makes the tennis ball go around the pole and back into the court. Kaidoh trains extremely hard, most of the time under Inui's instructions in order to improve his tennis skills. (additional note: he lost to Echizen in the first Seigaku regular selection matches, but he was able to save his regular's position after defeating Inui) |
