Overall the PS3 is better..

Exlusive wise its better..
Hardware wise its slightly better then the 360..
And its online service is free which is awesome.

They seem about close to equal but: PS3 - free online (I know it can be more laggy and persnickity then the XBOX, but the important part is the FREE part) and PS3 has niftier Japanese/anime style games cause uh...Sony is Japanese

I have both, and, personally, I like the PS3 better. Lately, it's had a better assortment of great games released than the 360, it has a Blu-ray player, and free online multiplayer.

Yeah the old xbox model had some serious red ring issues.

I forgot to mention, ps3 can't scatch your disks like the 360 (Only happens if you move it while it's playing) and also seems to be quieter and cool better, although i've never had my 360 overheat even having it on for 24/7 for 3 days (Party)

I have both, they seem to play games equally well, although some games seem to have issues on the ps3 whilst on the 360 they play fine (It's a problem with the actual games and not my ps3)

PS3 is nice because of the built in blu ray player, although i've never actually used it myself as i download and watch them via my computer.

I find PS3 live to be more laggy and unstable due to the fact that anyone with a connection no matter how weak can connect and play, whilst xbox requires a certain speed to play online to stop people lagging eachother (Though it happens, just not as much as on the ps3)

You can play online for free using the ps3, whilst i'd prefer using xbox live if i played online alot, having a free ps3 connection is better for me personally due to how little i actually use it making the yearly £40 too expensive for me to use xboxlive.

In all honesty, for me the deceiding factor is the controller and the exclusive games offered by each console (PS3 seems to have a few big names, including my fave gow3)

heres the deal, these votes are nothing but fanboys, dassit!!

honestly tho PS3 if you want a powerful machine and a machine that wont die! with a huge majority of jap RPG(which is why i got mine) and exclusive games not on xbox 360( which the xbox 360 has a huge list of games)

360 for cool games and it has more ppl to play with but my faults are my 360 died twice and im on my 3rd, i hate the fact that i have to pay money to play online when PS3 is free. other then that, Gear of War 3!

i say buy both used and dassit!
