i take that back we know Ace used Haoushoku no Haki.. which is the power to knock out weak willed people.. and Natsu dragoneel has very strong will power.

i vote natsu... people say stuff like ace has great close combat and make it sound like natsu has no CQC at all.. it's all about combination.. both can win.. just depends who has it in them.. but natsu has the advantage of eating fire which gives him a slight upper hand, fighting with a mix of both fire and fist.. i have seen both of them mix it up... and haki..=.= we don't know what kind of haki ace even used so lets not jump to conclusions.

Natsu is still close to an animal....so A fight between Will power Ace would win...
and He's part of Will of D....Summary is that A fight between a person whos willing to die for a friend vs A person whos willing to die for his dreams.....I vote the person whos willing to die for his dream!

Ace would rape Natsu. First of all imo, in these kinda discussions, you can't say things like 'Natsu doesnt have haki, so he cant hit Ace', cause, well, how should I put it, OP is the only anime with haki and logia things where you cant get hit, so to start a discussion with a OP character and a other character fighting, you gotta aply the golden rule of being able to hit each other... With that being said, Natsu still doesnt stand a chance. Ace is just too strong for Natsu, sure Natsu can eat fire (that doesnt mean he can eat Ace *facepalm* ) but Ace's combat skills are of high level, and he can easily defend against Natsu's weak fire attacks with his own fire. All Ace needs to do is one Dai Enkai, let Natsu suck it and then immediately another fire attack. I mean, Natsu wont be able to eat all his fire.

umm can i say what if ace manages to stab natsu with his cross flames? like he used on blackbeard natsu can still get pierced can he not... and again natsu is the main character for his anime and then it would all be about progression in the anime if u say luffy vs's natsu then luffy would win hands down since hes learnt sooo much more than back in ep 1, if ace hadnt died then maybe this would be more of an even poll.

there are different kind of flames in fairy tail like the flame gellal used to power up natsu when he fought against the leader of oracion seis zero , as longs the flame is hotter than ace own flames he can be hit because natsu can engulf himself in flames that means while he punches his flames touch ace and leave dmg

you are right he can eat anything that has fire and he lost to blackbeard but blackbeard power is stopping devil fruit users from using their powers and he wasnt used to getting hit like that but im just saying ace can win because he can fight hand to hand with natsu and he cant hit him..... but thats in my opinion =]

you forget that natsu can eat magma too , he even ate liquefied steel and ace will eventually grow tired while natsu has ace as energy supply and do you assume natsu would loose in close combat? ace freaking lost against blackbeard in close combat

that may be true but the thing is akainu used his haki to hit ace and thats the only way to hit a logia type devil fruit user so no matter what natsu cant win without using haki and he dont know how to use haki

Actually Natsu eats flames all the time that are not attacks, torches, and other flames that are around.

If Ace goes fire , Natsu wins.
If Ace dosen't go fire, Natsu looses.
