Synopsis
Ichinomiya Kantarou grew up with the ability to see demons, but was isolated and bullied by others who did not share the same gift. Instead, he became friends with the demons, gaining a great attachment to their existence. One day, Kantarou was told about the strongest demon, the one known as the ogre eating Tengu. Amazed by the news of his strength, Kantarou vowed to find this demon who was far stronger then any other, and decided to call him Haruka when he did so. Since this time, Kantarou searched far and wide for the ogre eating Tengu with no luck, making his living by becoming a folklore writer and exorcising demon.

Let's start by saying that despite being a "monster of the day" type of anime, IT'S NOT BAD!
Each episode features a different "mystery" with little continuation of the rest of the show, but they are very well done and provide a lot of insight towards Japanese folklore and culture.
That being, I give this anime an 8/10. High points were great music, original concept, good story telling and humor. However, character development seemed a bit shallow and the monster of the day format sometimes makes the show seem pointless.
Final thought: With the way the show ended, it seems that there could be a sequel. I look forward to it!

Characters
Kantarou Ichinomiya
Kantarou has white hair and red eyes. He is the main character, an exorcist and a writer who is trying to find the legendary demon eating tengu. He's trying to find the tengu because of the fact that the tengu is so strong and he thought finding the tengu would make him stronger. His peers made fun of him when he was a child. They thought he had made up stories of youkai, so they made fun of him and the youkai, saying there is no such thing as a youkai.


Haruka
Haruka has black hair with green highlights and hazel eyes, with black wings. He is the demon eating tengu that Kantarou has been trying to find. Kantarou unsealed him and named him Haruka. In the story, the person who names a youkai becomes its master. He goes with Kantarou on a journey, while because of Kantarou his true powers have been sealed and his memories are lost. He does not know who had sealed him or what had happened.


Youko
Youko is a fox youkai that Kantarou had named and is living with Kantarou to do house chores. She also plays a lot of the time with Suzu. She often goes along with Kantarou's many schemes to make more money and is constantly pestering him to finish his manuscripts.


Suzu Edogawa
Suzu is the girl who fell in love at first sight with Haruka, and often comes over to visit.
