Naruto Shippuuden





Synopsis
To prepare for the eventual confrontation with both Akatsuki and Orochimaru, Naruto leaves the village and undergoes intensive training under Jiraiya. At the same time, Sakura becomes Tsunade's apprentice, and Sasuke trains under Orochimaru. Thus, each of the three members of the original Team 7 is now training under one of the Legendary Sannin. When Naruto returns to the village two and a half years later, he is reacquainted with his friends, who have all risen in rank in his absence. Most of his comrades have since become Chunin; Kankuro, Temari, and Neji Hyuga have become Jonin; Gaara has even become the Fifth Kazekage: Naruto, meanwhile, is now the only Genin left. Jiraiya leaves Naruto with Kakashi Hatake, and along with Sakura, the three of them become a new team. To commemorate, they conduct another bell test, with Naruto and Sakura succeeding this time.

Member Review
Like many people Naruto was the anime that got me into "anime." Unfortuanately by the time I was done watching over 100 episodes of filler I was almost sick of anime altogether. Shippuuden seems to be trying to set a new tone. It's a little darker and the filler is actually watchable. Nonetheless, Naruto is such a huge money-maker it seems they plan on continuing to move the anime incredibley slow relative to the Manga. The result is to 'water-down' something that otherwise would be great.

While I do enjoy watching the anime, I read a little ahead in the Manga and can say it is really well done. Reading the Manga reminds me why I waste hours watching anime and can't seem to grow up; on the otherhand, watching the anime is merely 'enjoyable.' I'm not a big manga reader, but I'm seriously considering going back to it if things don't pick up. Bottom line, if you really like Naruto you probably wont be able to resist watching this. But if you haven't seen Naruto or like other things better read the Manga and find a better use of your viewing time. I suggest Hunter-X-Hunter (similar plot/themes and a much better pace)

Characters
Uzumaki Naruto
Not the brightest or gifted shinobi Naruto is part of team 7 originally consisting of himself, Sakura haruno, Sasuke Uchiha, and Kakaski hatake. With the defect of his former team mate Sasuke, Naruto vows to find and return him no matter what the cost. Naruto also is a jinchuriki, sealing inside of him a great demon fox. This at the beginning has given Naruto quite a hard childhood and has helped mold him into the kind of person who never wants to see anyone suffer because they are lonely or outcasted. The fox sealed inside of him also gives him a massive reserve of chakra, enabling him to do techniques beyond his skill level.


Uchiha Sasuke
He is a former leaf ninja and team 7 member. Considered to be a genius his skill was ranked top of his class as a genin. When he was younger his older brother had killed his parents and his entire clan leaving only Sasuke and himself as the last heirs to the Uchiha blood. In order to get revenge Sasuke decided that he would need more power and in order to do so he defected from the leaf village and left to train with Orochimaru(also a former leaf ninja and wanted criminal)


Haruno Sakura
Also part of the original team 7,Sakura unlike most characters in the anime hasn't had such a tragic beginning. Although not very useful in the beginning , under Tsunades training she has become an excellent medical ninja. She is able to control her chakra so precisely that she is able to to use it to increase the strength of her punches to an inhuman degree. It is even said that she can potentially one day surpass the fifth hokage.


Hatake Kakashi
Kakashi is the leader of team 7 and one of the strongest ninja's in hidden leaf, he posseses a sharingan that was given to him by a former team mate who had died. Kakashi is almost always seen reading a book, most likely of the pornagraphic sort that was written by Jiraiya-sama. He is also always shown wearing a mask, whether he's eating. sleeping, or taking a bath.


Sai
Sai is added to team 7 as a replacement for Sasuke, and is a "root" member(a division of ANBU). Sai has little or no emotions and is constantly unkowingly insulting those around him.


Yamato
He is a member of ANBU and sent to team 7 as a replacement for Kakashi. Yamato is of course is code name and not his real name. He also formerly worked under Kakashi when Kakashi was still in ANBU.
