Synopsis
Kintarou Oe doesn't look like it, but he is a genius who completed all his university courses and then quit before graduating. He becomes a wandering student, going from place to place on his bicycle, seeking to learn what he can about life, the world, and women. He is willing and able to do any job he has to prove himself. His travels take him to a variety of locations and a variety of women, each who learns to love the hardworking guy, but not before he can run off.

Great Teacher Onizuka was a great anime. It had a great character that was able to do anything that was thrown at him. However, that show must have taken inspiration from Golden Boy, because Kintaro is able to do ANYTHING that he needs to, all for the sake of the many girls. Anyway, I think that GTO was inspired by Golden Boy because GTO uses the same style of exaggerated art and perverseness.
This show has a great main character, the music is epic, and each episode has its own perks that makes it very memorable. However, this series is very short, but good! In fact, it it were any longer, then Kintaro Oe would no longer be the traveling 25 year old scholar, but probably the 50 year old scholar, because something this great can last that long!

Kintarou Oe
Kintarou is a 25-year-old freeter, pervert, and "travelling student". He is a very free spirited person, usually roaming Japan from town to town. He constantly observes and studies the people and events around him, recording his findings in a notebook he carries on his belt.
