Flame of Recca





Synopsis
Recca is a boy living in the modern world, only he seems drawn to following the ways of the ninja. On the day he befriends a girl named Yanagi who has a mysterious power of healing, he is confronted and challenged by a Dark Priestess. This battle leads Recca to discover a strange power within himself. Afterwards, he finds that not only is his past and destiny not as crystal clear as he had thought, but there are others with powers practicing the way of the ninja who challenge him one after another.

Member Review
The anime is decent at the start, but seriously guys, READ THE MANGA. The manga is absurdly awesome and has some absolutely amazing art later on (you can hardly believe it's a weekly series)! The anime, however, cuts out fights and character interaction scenes, adds their own crappy filler, and doesn't even cover a third of the manga! Plus, the ending to the anime is the stupidest thing ever. Again, read the manga.

Characters
Recca Hanabishi
Recca, the protagonist of the series, is a teenager obsessed with ninja and anything related to ninja. He declared that he would serve anyone who could defeat him in a fight as his/her loyal ninja.


Yanagi Sakoshita
Yanagi is a teenage girl gifted with the innate ability to heal any kind of physical injury, and Recca immediately offered to serve her as his loyal ninja after seeing her compassion when she healed a severely injured puppy in a local park.


Fuko Kirisawa
a tomboyish teenage girl, is Recca's childhood friend and has always aspired to defeat him in battle so that he would serve her as her ninja.


Domon Ishijima
Domon is Recca's schoolmate who, like Fuko, has always wanted to defeat Recca. However, he is never able to do so, and ends up befriending and joining forces with Recca.


Tokiya Mikagami
Tokiya is a second year student at Nashikiri High School, and he wields the Ensui, a sword that utilizes water to create it blade and is capable of creating and controlling all three states of water.


Kurei
Kurei is Recca's half brother who is four years older than him. He is also a flame master with the power of the phoenix, being able to capture the soul of a dead person in his flame.
