Cobra The Animation: The Psychogun


Synopsis
When Utopia More discovers an ancient record that holds the key to unlocking the secrets of the universe, she becomes the target of the ruthless Gypsy Doc of the Pirate Guild. Utopia finds herself saved by the easy-going yet legendary space pirate, Cobra, whose custom made Psychogun makes him a force to be reckoned with. Together, the two of them attempt to stop Gypsy Doc (along with Cobra's revived arch-nemesis, Crystal Boy) and his efforts to steal the record and use its secrets to rule the universe.

In this 4-episode sequel to the 1980’s Space Cobra anime series, Cobra’s plan to heist a precious jewel is interrupted by pirates and he is forced to save the sexy Professor Utopia More. Well, he always chooses to save the ladies. The hairstyles, the music, the coy remarks. They’re all so retro and campy it’s good fun. How many anime nowadays have the women walking around in thong bikinis and hip boots as normal casual wear?

In spite of the retro style, the artwork shows signs of modern computer animation, and true to the original series, the action is nonstop with a good soundtrack and fast pacing that will keep you wanting to immediately watch the next episode.

Cobra
Cobra's signature weapon is his Psycho-gun, a cybernetic arm-laser which is connected to his brain and capable of targeting enemies without needing a line-of-sight.; the gun also drains Cobra's mental energies after extended use. For backup he carries an old-fashioned Magnum revolver.


Utopia More
A professor and researcher working for the government military. Her job is to discover the secret of the creation of the universe. Following in the footsteps of her late father , she is able to find secrets behind the creation of the universe and is than targeted by the pirate guild because of it.
