Synopsis
Baki Hanma is a young fighter who yearns to follow in the footsteps of his father, Yujiro, and become the strongest fighter in the world. Through that he trains tirelessly and fights constantly to hone his skills and develop his body to achieve these goals. Many intense battles lay ahead of Baki as he goes about his quest to be the best and ultimately take the title of "King" from his father. Hanma Baki, son of the strongest grappler in the world, is trying to claim his father's throne. To do so he has to fight many; making lots of friends and enemies in the process.

Yes - he was one ugly kid. Yes - he had a mommy fetish (no, really, he did). But Season 2 shows us a much more grown up (less ugly too), Baki who kicks ass in an anime version of MMA! (Spot the reference to Rickson Gracie at the start of season 2).

It's worth a watch for action/martial arts fans. But you wouldn't miss it otherwise.

Characters
Baki Hanma
Baki is Bull headed, stubborn and rude. He lives for one thing: to train to become the greatest grappler in the world. He lives alone, away from the immense wealth and privilege of his mother Emi Akezawa. His goal is to surpass his father's reputation as the greatest.


Yujiro Hanma
The father of Baki. He is the strongest creature in the world, and is known to have mastered all styles of unarmed combat. His repertoire apparently includes all of the well-known fighting styles (such as boxing, tae kwon do, judo, jujutsu, wrestling, street-fighting, and so on) as well as some more esoteric ones (such as the udonde or uzunde style, an actual system used in the Motobu style of karate).


Emi Akezawa
Emi Akezawa is the stunning beauty behind the power of the Akezawa group. A mysterious organization involved with discovering and training fighters. Despite her offers to provide a better place for Baki to live and train. She is denied. Yet, she still truly desires Baki to surpass the fighting porwess of his father. But are her reasons for wanting this more twisted than even she realizes?
