Synopsis
The story follows three girls, Mai Minase , Yuki Aihara , and Kyoko Tohno , and a former CC Corp. director of the Japanese version of The World, Junichiro Tokuoka . They investigate as to why several people have fallen into a coma while playing the game.

An accident occuring in "The World", will be solved in the net framework space, with the OVA "Liminality". Mai and Kasumi collapse in the real world, however, only Mai recovers, leaving Tomonari in a coma. The incident will be investigated through the real world point of view. You will continue to come closer to the truth of the accident within the game while investigating from the real world in the OVA.

You can get really confussed if you haven't palyed the game.

There are not much to say...but to get an idea

It is like a future game-play system..Now we have..Lineage, Dotta, World of Warcraft, MU, Final Fanasy XI and many other on-line games.. In this MMORPG world u take place as a virtual reality character, u ran, fight change equipment..

This anime attacks the some "concepts" of virtual reality that mind can be seperated from the body (cosciousness) and other philosophical questions. The body in the real world in comma state..and the mind??? trapped in game? devoured from a virous in the game??

In one 4 words Really Interesting - Worth Watching!!!

Characters
Mai Minase
Mai and her boyfriend, Tomonari Kasumi (known to The World as Sieg), are taken to a hospital due to both of them collapsing while playing a MMORPG called The World. Despite Mai waking up shortly after arriving at the hospital, Tomonari remains in a coma.


Yuki Aihara
Tokuoka and Mai are on their way to meet with Yuki (known to The World as Yukichin), who is in Yokohama. Tokuoka gets stuck in traffic, and Mai goes to the library in Tokyo to attempt to look up information. During this time, she hears the sound. Meanwhile, Yuki is watching a movie when suddenly THE WORLD flashes on the screen, the power goes out, and the employees attempt to evacuate the building.


Kyoko Tohno
Junichiro Tokuoka travels to the city of Hida-Takayama to meet up with a miss Kyoko Tohno to discuss further details surrounding the mysteries in The World as well as the legends surrounding The Epitaph of Twilight.
